Pomeranians are good as companions for both lazy bones and sports people. They can laze about on a coach all day but they also like spending time outdoors and have no problem with an all-day-long trip. Surprisingly with regard to their size, they are also good watchdogs. While they are warm to their known people, uninvited guests will encounter aggression and loud barking. Moreover, they are vigilant and carefully watch their surroundings. Their upbringing and training is trouble-free thanks to their intelligence.

They are excellent at getting what they want from their owners and that is usually their attention. Their fur needs a lot of attention, it needs to be combed every day and cut once a month or two.

These dogs who come from Pomerania (the region on the north of Germany and Poland) were originally used as sheep dogs even though they are classified as miniature breeds these days. Mainly queen Victoria who liked them very much and allegedly contributed to their miniaturization made them popular. The aim was to breed as little and furry dogs as possible and therefore they are only half as big than they used to be.

This compact little dog with the weight around two kilos can be a great companion you’ll have a lot of fun with. But they are not particularly good for beginners in dog keeping because of their stubbornness and aggression. A wedge-shaped head with a mouth makes them look a bit like fox which is partially reflected in its nature. Their highly intelligent look is the proof.

Are you one of those who fell in love with pomeranians? Can you say if it was because of their cute appearance of fun nature?
