Kitten Lady describes her activities as kittens’ advocacy and humane education. This all is done by young beautiful Hannah Shaw. She’s a kitten rescuer, spreads the principles of humanity and is an unwavering advocate of animal rights. She decided to devote her life to finding new ways to protect animals. Her project Kitten Lady strives to create a global change of the way we perceive and treat the smallest and the most vulnerable cats – orphan kittens.

The range of her activities is really wide – she prepares educational and training materials, runs instructional workshops and provides consultancy services. And she does all of that to help individuals and animal shelters to learn how to save kittens’ lives. Moreover, the format of these activities is amusing and interesting.

Hannah was introduced as a host expert at My Cat From Hell in Animal Planet, her work was even mentioned in People Magazine and Cosmopolitan and in other media all over the world. And it wasn’t just one or two magazines. In 2017, she won the Advocate of the Year award granted by CatCon Worldwide.

Thanks to sharing inspirational and cute pictures from everyday life of a kitten advocate and caretaker on Facebook and Instagram and educational videos about taking care of kittens on her YouTube channel, she has become world famous. I also like to follow her posts. After all, there are photos of little cute kittens, right :). You get to know their stories and often follow them on their path from their arrival to Hannah, sometimes even fighting for life, to the adoption to their new (and hopefully lifelong in most cases) family.

If you have been following Kitten Lady for quite some time as I have, you could also see how she met and got close with her life partner Andrew Marttila. Together, they now run a charity organization Orphan Kitten Club in the region of San Diego where they provide rescuing and adoption services to orphan kittens.

Even though the photos present an overload of cuteness, there is a lot of work, nerves and lack of sleep behind taking care of the smallest kittens. My hat’s off to anyone who devoted his/her life to this purpose. It is very demanding to raise one litter, but to take care of dependent little furry balls constantly, that must be really something only a strong person can do. If you are interested in what it takes, you can read an article called Hand Rearing Kittens or simply follow Kitten Lady.

I used to meet such little kittens only from time to time and feed them from a bottle in my friend’s cat deposit. Taking care of them was always associated with worries if they will all make it. But it was great to observe how all the other cat residents at the deposit act like parents to these kittens and at least partially take care of them.

And what about you, have you ever taken care of orphan kittens? And what do you say about Kitten Lady?
