The tallest dog is Great Dane Gibson from the USA. Measured to the top of its withers it is 107 cm tall. It weighs 77 kg and when it stands on its hind legs, it is about 220 cm tall!
The smallest dog
The smallest dog was recorded in 1945 and it was a Yorkshire terrier from Great Britain. It measured 7.11 cm to the top of its withers and it was only 9.5 cm long from its nose to the tip of its tail.
The highest jump
This record is held by a female greyhound Cindy (Cinderella May A Holly Grey) from Miami. She jumped 167.6 cm high.
The longest jump
The absolute record breaker was Greyhound Bang, who, in 1849 during a rabbit hunt in England, jumped unbelievable 9.2 m far. At the same time, he was jumping over an obstacle which was about 130 cm tall.
Female dog with the most numerous puppy litter
The most numerous litter known comprised of unbelievable 24 puppies. These were born to a Neapolitan mastiff called Tia in the USA. Her litter holds also the second record in the number of surviving puppies from one litter. “Only” 4 puppies were too weak, still an admirable 20 of them survived.
The most expensive dog in the world
Probably the most expensive dog is the Tibetan mastiff that was sold in China for the sum equivalent to 10 million Czech crowns.
