Zabezpečení oken a balkonů je jedna z prvních věcí, kterou doma musíte zařídit s příchodem kočky do rodiny. Víte, jaké máte možnosti?
Nedávno jsem se stěhovala, a tak mě opět čekalo zařizování sítí do oken. Kočky totiž instinktivně vyhledávají vyvýšená místa a místa s dobrým výhledem do okolí. Mnoho chovatelů se domnívá, že pokud bydlí ve vyšším patře, kočka nemůže vyskočit a síť tedy nepotřebují. To je ovšem omyl. Rok co rok se setkávám se zprávami, že chlupáč někomu z okna vypadl.
Pokud jde o nízké patro, kočička se nemusí stihnout přetočit na všechny čtyři ale i kdyby se jí nic nestalo, utrpí obrovský šok. Poprvé se třeba ocitne na ulici, mezi všemi těmi pachy a vzruchy. V lepším případě se vám ji povede najít, v tom horším se nadobro ztratí nebo ji něco přejede.
Nemylte se, i z vysokého patra kočka může vypadnout. Může si hovět na parapetu, něčeho se leknout a spadnout. Může kolem letět moucha, což nenechá její lovecké pudy v klidu a při chňapnutí po ní udělá krok do prázdna. Při pádu z výšky už kočička lehce přijde ke zlomeninám nebo vážným zraněním, kterým může i podlehnout.
K zabezpečení oken a balkonů máte několik možností. Pokud nemůžete nebo nechcete zasahovat do fasády domu, můžete si v chovatelských potřebách koupit teleskopické hliníkové tyče, na které síť uchytíte. Jde i o nejlevnější variantu. Kamenem úrazu ale může být dotažení teleskopu.
Další možností je set ochranné sítě se součástkami na připevnění. Zde už ale musíte do fasády nebo okna vyvrtat otvory na připevňovací háky. Po obvodu sítě pak už jen protáhnete připevňovací šňůru (síť bude po krajích pevnější), kterou následně zavěsíte do háků.
Poslední alternativou je sjednat si firmu, která vám okno zasíťuje. Výhodou je, že se nemusíte bát, že vrtáním poškodíte zateplení domu nebo plastové okno. Firma si jistě poradí i pokud byste si sami s montáží nevěděli rady, třeba pokud máte plechový parapet a zasíťují vám i terasu bez stropu. Navíc máte na vykonanou práci záruku.
Bezpečné není ani větrat jen na ventilačku. I tak může kočka větracím otvorem utéct, v horším případě se zaseknout a poranit, nebo se dokonce udusit. Můžete si ale koupit speciální mříž, která vám pokryje volný prostor vyklopeného okna a větrat pak můžete bezstarostně. Seženete ji v každých větších chovatelských potřebách.
Nebezpečí okolo oken opravdu není dobré podceňovat. Kočička vám může léta bez problému lehávat na parapetu, ale stačí jeden okamžik a neštěstí může být na světě. Nakonec nejde o tak drahou prevenci a za ten pocit klidu, že jste chlupáčovi zajistili bezpečí, to stojí.
