Monoprotein vs. Holistic Food

Seemingly two different types of dog food which are similar in many things. In both cases, it is high-quality superpremium dog food. And they have much more in common. Which is suitable for your dog?

You won’t definitely make a mistake if you pick monoprotein wet food nor holistic dry food. They are both high-quality superpremium dog food. However, all dogs are not alike and different types of dog food might be suitable for them. A great option is also their combination.

Holistic approach does not see dog food only as nourishment. It takes into account the overall condition of the dog including all its health aspects. We could call it prevention by a healthy diet.

Holistic dry dog food is therefore made of high-quality ingredients with the aim to provide the dog all needed nutrients for its healthy life. Besides meat, it also includes minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, herbs, probiotics, digestive enzymes and Omega-3 fatty acids which serve as a prevention of potential health risks.

Monoprotein cans also choose the path of prevention. They contain only one kind of meat, sometimes in the combination with hypo-allergenic side dish such as rice or sweet potatoes. It significantly decreases the risk of food allergy or intolerance. Moreover, this food is more natural for dogs than dry food, they like it better and their digestion does not burden dog’s organism. The food is well tolerated even by more sensitive dogs. I dare say that BARF is the most natural way of dog’s diet.

It’s suitable for both healthy dogs to prevent any intolerance from occurring and even for dogs with some kind of dietary restriction. They have high content of muscles and offals (of one kind) Cans are either made with hypo-allergenic side dish – and therefore they are complete dog food or purely meat. These can be a great complement to some high-quality dry food, for example holistic ones.

The producers of both kinds of dog food believe that prevention is the best way towards health. While holistic dog food sees dogs’ diet as the prevention for the holistic health, monoprotein dog food focuses on the prevention of digestive disorders. And because healthy bowels are essential for a good immune system, the aim of both kinds is the same in the end – to feed a dog with high-quality food and keep it in excellent shape.

A great way might be to combine both of these approaches. Therefore, the dog’s organism will have enough energy for its immune system thanks to easily digestible dog food and it will be even more supported by the diet.

Do you have experience with these dog foods? Can you see positive changes in your dogs? For example, have you noticed that thanks to higher percentage of nutrients, smaller portions are enough for your dog? And even though these dog foods belong to the more expensive ones, you can’t see any difference in your wallet thanks to this?
